0.1 — Week 1 placeholder · Updated February 2026

Privacy Policy

How GoSkilling collects, uses, and protects your personal data.

Early-stage notice

GoSkilling is at an early stage. This policy accurately reflects our current practices as of February 2026. As the product grows, we will update this document and notify affected users. We will never retroactively change how we use data you've already provided without asking you first.

GoSkilling Ltd. ('GoSkilling', 'we', 'us', or 'our') is committed to protecting your personal data. This policy explains what data we collect, why we collect it, how we use it, and what rights you have — in plain language.

Who we are

GoSkilling Ltd. is the data controller for the personal data described in this policy. We are an AI-powered hiring platform that provides candidate screening and shortlisting services to companies.

What data we collect and why

At this stage, GoSkilling collects a small and specific set of personal data. We do not collect anything beyond what is listed here.

Waitlist email addresses
Email addresses submitted via our waitlist form. Used solely to contact you about early access. Legal basis: Legitimate interest / consent.
Candidate CV and profile data
CVs and professional profiles submitted by hiring companies as part of a screening engagement. Used to perform the screening service. Legal basis: Contract performance.
Candidate contact details
Name, email, and phone number included in candidate pipelines submitted by hiring companies. Used to identify candidates within a shortlist. Legal basis: Contract performance.
Hiring company contact details
Name and email of the person who submits a screening request. Used to deliver the shortlist and communicate about the engagement. Legal basis: Contract performance.

We do not use cookies, tracking pixels, or analytics tools at this stage. We do not collect IP addresses, device data, or browsing behaviour.

How we use your data

We use personal data only for the purposes stated at the point of collection. Specifically:

  • Waitlist emails are used to send early-access invitations and product updates. We will not add you to any other mailing list without your explicit consent.
  • Candidate data submitted as part of a screening engagement is used to generate a scored shortlist for the hiring company. It is not used for any other purpose.
  • Hiring company contact details are used to deliver the engagement output and handle any follow-up queries.
  • We do not sell, rent, or share personal data with third parties for marketing purposes — ever.
  • We do not use candidate data to train AI models without explicit written consent from both the hiring company and, where required, the candidate.

AI processing and automated decisions

GoSkilling uses large language models (specifically Anthropic's Claude API) to analyse candidate data against a job-specific rubric and generate screening scores and rationale.

Under GDPR Article 22, individuals have the right not to be subject to decisions based solely on automated processing that produce significant effects. GoSkilling's shortlists are advisory — a human hiring manager reviews every output before any hiring decision is made. No candidate is accepted or rejected by automated means alone.

  • AI-generated scores are clearly labelled as such in every shortlist.
  • Each score includes a human-readable rationale that can be reviewed and challenged.
  • The hiring company retains full decision-making authority.
  • Candidate data sent to the Claude API is processed under Anthropic's data processing terms. Data is not used by Anthropic to train models by default.

Who we share data with

At Week 1, we share personal data with a minimal set of processors, all under appropriate data processing agreements:

Anthropic (Claude API)
Candidate CV and profile data is sent to Anthropic's API for AI screening. Processed under Anthropic's API data processing terms. Data is not retained beyond the API call by default.
Email provider
We use email to communicate with clients and waitlist subscribers. Standard business email; no bulk marketing platform in use at this stage.

We do not share data with any other third parties. As the product scales (e.g. adding cloud storage, analytics, or ATS integrations), this section will be updated.

How long we keep your data

Waitlist email addresses
Until you unsubscribe or request deletion, or until 12 months after the waitlist closes — whichever is sooner.
Candidate CV and profile data
Retained for 30 days after delivery of the shortlist, then securely deleted. Hiring companies receive the shortlist output; raw CVs are not retained beyond this window.
Shortlist output documents
Retained for up to 6 months to allow for queries or disputes, then deleted.
Hiring company contact details
Retained for the duration of the commercial relationship plus 12 months for accounting and legal purposes.

Your rights

Under GDPR and UK GDPR, you have the following rights regarding your personal data. We take these seriously and will respond to all requests within one calendar month.

  • Right of access — You can ask us what personal data we hold about you and receive a copy.
  • Right to rectification — You can ask us to correct inaccurate data we hold about you.
  • Right to erasure — You can ask us to delete your personal data where we have no legal obligation to retain it.
  • Right to restriction — You can ask us to pause processing your data while a dispute is resolved.
  • Right to data portability — You can ask for your data in a machine-readable format.
  • Right to object — You can object to processing based on legitimate interest, including any direct marketing.
  • Right not to be subject to automated decisions — As described above, our AI output is always reviewed by a human before any decision is made.

To exercise any of these rights, email hello@goskilling.com with the subject line 'Data Rights Request'. You will not be charged. We may need to verify your identity before processing the request.

If you are unhappy with how we handle your data, you have the right to lodge a complaint with your supervisory authority. In the UK this is the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk). In the EU, contact the supervisory authority in your member state.

International data transfers

Anthropic, Inc. is a US-based company. When candidate data is sent to the Claude API for processing, it may be transferred to servers in the United States.

This transfer is covered by Anthropic's standard contractual clauses and data processing agreement, which provide appropriate safeguards under GDPR Article 46 and UK GDPR.

If you have concerns about international data transfers for a specific engagement, please raise these before submitting candidate data. We can discuss alternative arrangements on a case-by-case basis.

Security

We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect personal data from unauthorised access, loss, or disclosure. At this stage this includes:

  • Candidate data is shared with GoSkilling via encrypted email or secure file transfer only.
  • Shortlist outputs are delivered via encrypted channels.
  • Access to any personal data is restricted to GoSkilling founding team members who need it to perform the service.
  • No personal data is stored in unsecured spreadsheets or shared drives.

As the platform scales to include a database and candidate portal, we will publish a more detailed security posture here.

Changes to this policy

We will update this policy as GoSkilling grows and as our data practices change. When we make material changes, we will notify affected individuals by email where we hold a contact address.

The version number and last-updated date at the top of this page reflect the current state of the policy.

This is version 0.1 — a good-faith early-stage placeholder. We will publish version 1.0 before we onboard our first full production client. We recommend having a solicitor review that version.

Questions about this policy?

If anything in this policy is unclear, or if you want to exercise your data rights, contact us. We're a small team and we'll respond personally.
